Two Sunderland-based insurance providers have seen a workforce boost after being snapped up by a Manchester-headquartered information technology giant.

Policy Link and 1st UK Commercial have expanded their staff following their acquisition by iRevolution Group and a move into their new offices at Kingsway House, close to the Northern Spire Bridge.

Policy Link has added eight new employees to its 11-member staff during the lockdown and plans to increase this number to 25 by year-end.

Meanwhile, 1st UK Commercial, which specialises in providing fleet and commercial policies, has created 11 new jobs since July and plans to add more as 2020 draws to a close.

“It has been an exciting time for us since becoming part of iRevolution Group,” said Stuart Crosby, managing director at 1st UK Commercial, as quoted by Business-live.co.uk. “It has unfortunately been a tough year for many businesses due to the ongoing pandemic, but we have managed to grow and expand on our staff, with plans for it to grow further.

“We are continuing to concentrate on providing an unrivalled service and pricing for new business ventures who require fleet, property and liability insurances.”

“The business has grown from strength to strength since becoming part of iRevolution Group,” said Ethan Lowery, director at Policy Link. “I am really proud of what we have achieved and I am excited to see what the future brings, as we continue to set the standard for lead trading and outsourced solutions for the insurance industry.”
