Global wholesale insurance and reinsurance broker Ed has a new wordings advisory manager for its professional & executive risk unit.

Making the switch from global law firm Eversheds Sutherland, Duncan Childs will be in charge of drafting bespoke policy wordings for Ed’s clients. A qualified lawyer who trained at specialist insurance law firm Beachcroft, the key hire also worked at insurance law specialists Davies Lavery, or what’s now known as Kennedys.

Childs, who will report to professional & executive risk director James Baird, brings with him nearly two decades of insurance law experience.

“Duncan is a recognised insurance law expert, whose experience will be a tremendous asset to our team and a source of additional, invaluable support for existing and future clients,” said Baird. “His expertise and depth of knowledge will be a clear differentiator for our offering as we continue to build out our professional & executive risk business.”

Last June Ed expanded its professional & executive risks business – appointing five officers, including Baird, to work with the broker’s established professional risk offering.
