The UK and international insurance markets have seen a series of high-profile appointments in the property and broking sectors.

AIG expands real estate leadership

AIG has appointed Dean Cloke as head of real estate, commercial property UK.

Cloke will lead the development of AIG's real estate insurance portfolio and go-to-market strategy. He will also focus on building a robust real estate team to support the company's growth targets in the segment.

Cloke joins from Everest Insurance, where he was head of property for the UK and Ireland, having previously spent nearly 16 years at Zurich Insurance in senior property and real estate roles.

Chubb appoints global property head

Chubb has named Aaron Shead (pictured, left) as executive vice president, head of property for Chubb Overseas General Insurance (COG).

Shead will oversee the growth and profitability of Chubb's fire, terrorism, power and energy portfolios, while serving as business leader for property major accounts.

With more than 25 years of international experience, including his previous role as head of fire for COG, Shead's appointment highlights Chubb's emphasis on technical expertise and leadership in global property markets.

Lloyd & Whyte strengthens community broking

Richard Spencer MCMI (pictured, right) has joined the company as head of business development within its community broking division, covering Wales and the South West.

In his role, Spencer will support growth initiatives, promote best practice, and contribute strategic ideas based on 40 years of insurance broking experience, including as a national sales director.

Commenting on his appointment, Spencer highlighted the company's client- and community-focused ethos, noting the company's ambition to become the UK's top corporate donor.
