Arch Insurance International, Addept Insurance Services, and Beazley have each announced new senior appointments as they continue to strengthen their specialist insurance offerings across multiple markets.

Arch welcomes Holley Higgins

Arch Insurance International has announced the appointment of Holley Higgins (pictured above, left) as head of ports & terminals. Higgins will be responsible for developing the insurer’s ports and terminals portfolio, managing underwriting of global risks in both first-party property damage and third-party liability.

She will be based in London and will report to Jake Gibbs, head of marine, energy & construction. Higgins joins the company from Markel International, where she was most recently head of transport & logistics, and brings more than 15 years of sector experience to her new role.

Earlier this month, Arch also appointed Ed Short as its first head of digital, a newly established role to lead digital underwriting initiatives across the London market, UK regional, Australia, European Union and Bermuda platforms.

Addept operations director

In the legal expenses and ancillary insurance sector, Addept Insurance Services has named Jo Finan (pictured above, middle) as operations director.

Finan will take charge of claims and operational functions, which include oversight of Addept Insurance’s online claims portal for policyholders. She will also lead the procurement and rollout of a dedicated back-office claims and contract management system, which is scheduled to go live in the third quarter of 2025.

Finan has 10 years of experience in claims, project, and business management within the legal expenses and ancillary insurance market.

Finan’s appointment follows a period of accelerated growth for Addept Insurance during the first half of 2025. The business has launched new schemes, introduced its first legal expenses product, opened new offices, and expanded its operational team in Colchester, Essex.

Beazley parametric head

In a separate development, Beazley has announced that Stefan Wunderlich (pictured above, right) will join as head of parametric insurance, effective June 10. Wunderlich will be based in Zurich, Switzerland, and report to Richard Montminy, group head of property risks.

He moves to Beazley from Swiss Re, where his two decades of experience included senior roles focused on modelling and underwriting property and natural catastrophe risks, as well as the development of parametric solutions for corporate clients.

Beazley has significantly expanded its property underwriting capabilities since 2022, increasing its activity in the US excess and surplus market, rolling out specialist property underwriting in Europe, and developing parametric insurance solutions as part of its broader commitment to the property sector.
