Jensten Group (Jensten) has acquired community broker Melville Burbage, pending regulatory approval.

The agreement involves a team of 15 and two additional offices, contributing £6 million in gross written premium (GWP) to Jensten's business.

Well-regarded locally for delivering commercial broking solutions, Melville Burbage serves over 5,000 businesses and individuals across sectors such as construction, non-profit, and professional services. The company specialises in engineering and printing, areas that augment Jensten's expanding roster of specialist centres of excellence.

The strategic acquisition aligns with Jensten's regional expansion plans across the UK, fortifying its local presence and capacity to serve clients in the home counties.

Kevin Stevens and Darren Young, directors at Melville Burbage, will continue leading the business under the supervision of Robin Thomson, MD of Jensten Insurance Brokers.

“In joining the Jensten Group, we embark on an exciting new chapter for Melville Burbage. It was very important to us that we joined a business that understood our growth ambitions but who would also value and be sympathetic to the lasting relationships we've cultivated with our clients. Jensten were an obvious choice for us, and we are looking forward to the opportunities this relationship will provide both for our people and our customers,” Stevens said.

Jensten Retail MD Rob Organ (pictured) said Melville Burbage's Newbury office complements Jensten's existing presence in the Thames Valley.

“We are pleased to be able to announce our latest acquisition of Melville Burbage. Growing our established footprint and adding new regional centres of excellence is a key element of our

strategy, and one we're making good progress on,” he said. “[Melville Burbage's] reputation for delivering a high-quality service to local businesses, along with [its] expertise within the engineering and printing communities, perfectly complements our plans. We look forward to welcoming Kevin, Darren, and the team to the Jensten family.”

The deal with Melville Burbage follows Jensten's expansion in East Anglia with the acquisition of Scrutton Bland Insurance Brokers.
