There has been a shake-up at the top of Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) – albeit one that has been “in the works” for quite some time.

Announced earlier today, Nick Metcalf has handed over the running of LSM to Matthew Moore (pictured), completing a leadership change that had been planned for several years. Metcalf commented that Moore is “uniquely placed” to lead LSM into the future and is a “talented market leader.”

“I believe that LSM is uniquely placed to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the innovation taking place in the London market, and it is a privilege to be leading LSM at this exciting time,” commented Moore on his appointment.

“I look forward to engaging with our clients in my new role and to helping them to prosper. I would like to pay tribute to Nick’s leadership of LSM over the past 10 years and to the guidance and support he has provided to me personally as I look to lead on from the excellent position in which LSM now finds itself.”

Moore was most recently the group CUO at LSM having been with the company for 15 years. He originally joined as a political risk underwriter back in 2002.
