Price Forbes has hired veteran broker Malcolm Payton (pictured above) from Gallagher Specialty, adding a senior executive with a long background in facultative reinsurance to its leadership team.
The appointment takes effect on December 9, 2026. Based in London, Payton will report to John Thompson and will work with leadership teams across Price Forbes and Price Forbes Re on commercial strategy and market engagement.
Payton joins from Gallagher Specialty as chief executive officer for property, casualty and insurance solutions and head of global facultative. He had held the role since January 2020.
“I’m excited to be joining Price Forbes at such a pivotal stage of its growth,” said Payton. “Its ambition and the opportunity to sit alongside such talented colleagues were irresistible and I look forward to working with them to build relationships and strong foundations for the future.”
Before joining Gallagher, he served as managing partner at Capsicum Re from July 2015 to December 2019. Earlier, he was managing director at Guy Carpenter from March 2011 to July 2015, where Price Forbes said he led facultative operations across London and Europe. He previously worked at JLT Re as a partner, where Price Forbes said he led global facultative operations. Before that, he spent more than eight years at Aon as executive director in property, casualty and London facultative roles.
Price Forbes said Payton brings more than 40 years of industry experience spanning leadership, production and team development.
“Continuing to invest in leaders of Malcolm’s calibre and reputation is core to achieving our long term objectives and I am delighted to welcome him to the team,” said Thompson. “Malcolm’s exceptional market credibility, relationships, technical expertise and proven track record will be invaluable as we meaningfully and sustainably scale the business further.”
The appointment follows several recent hires across the group as Price Forbes continues to add senior talent in specialty and reinsurance roles.
