Broking giant Marsh is wasting no time in mapping out its synergy with Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT), ahead of parent firm Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) completing its swoop.

Last month it was revealed that the two brokerages are combining their specialty units to form Marsh-JLT Specialty as part of the major deal… now appointments have been made, effective upon closing of the transaction.

Marsh UK & Ireland specialty leader Paul Moody has been named head of Marsh-JLT Specialty for the UK & Ireland while Roy White, chair of UK specialty for Marsh, will hold the same position at Marsh-JLT Specialty for the UK & Ireland.

Paul Knowles, chief executive of UK, Europe, and South Africa for JLT, has been appointed as head of Marsh-JLT Specialty in Continental Europe.

Outside specialty, Adrian Girling is set to chair UK & Ireland corporate and risk management for Marsh. Currently he is chairman of UK, Europe, and South Africa for JLT.

Meanwhile other appointments, such as in Australia, have also been announced. For the UK & Ireland, Marsh’s Chris Lay will continue in his capacity as chief executive.

Combining the capabilities and colleagues of JLT and Marsh, according to the latter’s president and CEO John Doyle, is “an exciting opportunity to deliver greater value to clients.”
