French brokers placing surety business typically work across multiple providers to cover different bond classes, a fragmentation that Jean Lowe (pictured, left), Trevanti's incoming chief executive, says the MGA is built to address. Mission, which backs specialist underwriters to build and launch their own MGAs, has set up Trevanti to consolidate that access into a single Paris-based operation covering construction, commercial and specialist bond lines.
Lowe, who will lead Trevanti, has close to 20 years of experience in international surety and financial guarantees. He joins from Accelerant, where he managed the European surety portfolio, and has held prior roles at UK Export Finance and French broker Verspieren.
Adama Samake (pictured, centre) joins as head of surety underwriting, with more than 30 years in underwriting and distribution, including senior roles at CEGC/Natixis and Atradius. Christine Maksic (pictured, right) comes aboard as senior underwriter, bringing more than 20 years in surety and financial guarantees from the same institutions.
The capacity backing Trevanti's bonds is described as A-rated on the company's website, though the provider is not named publicly. Trevanti operates as a French branch of Mission Underwriting Europe Limited, which is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
Trevanti's construction bond range covers performance and completion, advance payment, retention and maintenance, and bid and tender bonds. Its commercial and specialist offering spans regulated professionals, legal and customs requirements, environmental and agricultural guarantees, and import and export bonds. Brokers placing those classes through separate providers are the primary audience.
France has an established surety market with consistent demand across construction and commercial sectors, with bonds widely used in both public procurement practice and private commercial contracts. France ranked third among Continental European MGA markets by gross written premium in 2025 at €1.31 billion, behind Benelux and Italy but ahead of Germany, according to Howden Re's latest European MGA report.
Trevanti is Mission's first MGA in Continental Europe. The group, established in the US in 2021, supports more than 40 MGAs across the UK, Europe, the US, and Latin America. The launch follows wider MGA appetite for European surety positions, demonstrated also by Optio Group's purchase of an Irish construction surety MGA earlier this year.
UK and London market brokers placing French surety risks face the same access fragmentation, making a single-entry MGA of this kind relevant beyond the domestic French broker market.
"Trevanti will address that challenge directly by bringing together experienced underwriting, broad product knowledge and fast decision-making in one place," Lowe said.
"Many product lines and distribution channels remain fractured across European markets," said Ross Dingwall, chief executive of Mission International, adding that the fragmentation creates openings for specialist MGAs. Trevanti is based at 69 Boulevard Haussmann in Paris.
