MX, the underwriting arm of Specialist Risk Group (SRG), has entered into a multi-year delegated distribution agreement with Aviva to support Trilogy Underwriting.

The partnership is expected to generate over £100 million in gross written premium, strengthen MX’s London Market presence, and accelerate its growth ambitions across the UK.

With a growing property and casualty portfolio across the UK and Ireland, MX offers a broad range of commercial solutions for SME and mid-market clients, including property, liability, motor fleet and specialist sector coverage. The business has expanded its underwriting appetite in recent years to respond to increased broker demand for flexible capacity and technical expertise across key regional markets.

The addition of Aviva capacity reinforces MX's London Market operations, offering greater stability and scalability while supporting the company's plans for sustainable growth and consistent underwriting performance.

The agreement is also expected to help MX deliver improved access to capacity for brokers serving clients with complex or non-standard risks, particularly within UK property and casualty lines where capacity constraints have been a challenge.

MX will engage with its broker network in the coming days to outline how the new capacity will enhance products, service, and outcomes for partners and clients.

Ian Cook (pictured above, left), managing director at MX, said the partnership represents a key step in the company’s development and strengthens its position within the UK MGA market. He added that the collaboration with Aviva will create opportunities for growth while maintaining MX’s focus on value for brokers and clients.

Meanwhile, Dave Martin (pictured above, right), managing director of UK commercial and chief distribution officer at Aviva, said the partnership with MX aligns with Aviva's distribution strategy and growth objectives. He noted that MX brings sector expertise and a strong track record in underwriting performance centred on customer value.

Martin said the agreement forms part of Aviva’s broader relationship with SRG, aimed at supporting customer outcomes, achieving underwriting returns, and enabling sustainable growth.
