Specialist travel insurer P J Hayman has improved its client offering with a newly formed partnership with global consular assistance provider Consularcare.

Through the partnership, P J Hayman’s revamped Travel Plus scheme will now include the leading travel firm’s ConsularAssist solution.

Peter Hayman, the insurer’s director, said that they may add Consularcare’s solution to other suitable products.

“We decided to include this in our main Travel Plus product which targets the brokers and mid- to high net worth customers,” Hayman said.

“In a market that is so often driven by price, our philosophy is to provide the best range of covers and services wherever we can.”

Consularcare said the addition of its services to P J Hayman’s products provides customers with added value and peace of mind in the event of an incident abroad.

Mike Jones, Consularcare co-founder and commercial director, said that they have enabled insurers to offer 24-hour consular cover to business and leisure travellers in 198 countries.

“It is a unique solution, and the most appropriate new provision in the insurance market for many years,” Jones said.

“Consularcare will bridge the gap between the limited consular support available to travellers, and what they may need in an uncertain and ever-changing global environment,” he added.

Jones noted that travellers now need consular assistance for “more complex and serious scenarios” such as immigration arrests, crimes, terror attacks and deaths abroad.
