Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC), a specialist insurer of defined benefit pension funds, has announced three new appointments to its origination team.

Tom Seecharan will be the co-head of origination while Matt Richards will be the head of origination structuring and Louise Nash will be the origination actuary.

“I’m delighted we have been able to recruit three individuals who are widely respected across our industry,” said Mitul Maguida, co-chief origination officer at PIC.

Who are the three new appointees?

Prior to his new role, Seecharan was part of Rothesay Life’s business development team. He has over 20 years of experience in the pension industry, with previous experience in leading KPMG’s pension risk settlement team for over 14 years. He was also a trainee actuary with Mercer for three years.

Richards hailed from Phoenix Group where he was a senior business development actuary in the bulk annuity team for more than two years. He has 15 years of experience in the pensions and insurance industry. He also has experience in several bulk annuity transactions.

Nash was previously part of WTW’s pension de-risking team and has 14 years of experience in advising defined benefit pension schemes on bulk annuity transactions and longevity risk management. She had worked with trustees and sponsors in order to develop their strategies.

“With these new hires and the nine internal promotions we announced last month, we are committed to making sure we have the capacity, expertise and thought leadership to continue to deliver strong growth and innovative solutions to our clients,” said Maguida.

PIC provides retirement incomes through risk management and asset and liability management.
