RKH Specialty, the broking arm of Hyperion Insurance Group, has hired industry veteran Jonathan Finch to strengthen its surety team.

Finch will join the surety team on September 1 coming from ACE, where he most recently ran the UK and Ireland surety operations.

Finch said it is “exciting to be joining a team that is truly committed to the surety product and its development worldwide.”

He carries with him more than 20 years of experience in surety products both as a broker and manager.

“I am delighted that Jonathan has agreed to join us,” said Paul Philand, global head of surety for RKH Specialty.

“He brings a great wealth of experience in the surety market and will be a true asset as part of our objective to become the leading global surety broker,” he added.

Finch’s appointment comes as RKH positions itself as a leading player in the surety market following a major acquisition earlier this year.

In January, RKH announced that it has acquired PMG Finance Services, the largest independent specialist surety broker in the UK.

RKH Specialty CEO Barnaby Rugge-Price said the acquisition of PMG represented a “significant opportunity.”

“PMG’s considerable experience in arranging solutions for the world’s largest corporations, and reputation for handling the most complex bond needs, will provide the platform for RKH Specialty to become a market-leader in this niche specialism,” Rugge-Price said.
