Rokstone has hired Gavin Dollings as chief digital underwriting officer, further sharpening its focus on growing its digital capabilities.

With over 25 years’ experience, Dollings joins from Covea, where he was commercial underwriting director for the past six years. Prior to that he spent 10 years at Allianz, as head of UK casualty and construction and later as South East regional manager.

At Rokstone, Dollings will lead the growing digital underwriting team as part of its parent group Aventum’s multi-million-pound investment in digital transformation. The appointment comes around a month after Rokstone appointed Jo Lambe as digital product development manager. Rokstone said that it is planning further appointments as it seeks to grow and attract the best underwriting talent to its dedicated digital underwriting team.

“We’re delighted to welcome Gavin on board,” said Tony Lawrence, chief digital distribution officer of Aventum. “He is a highly capable and pragmatic chief underwriting officer with extensive experience from some of the biggest and most agile insurers. He has an impeccable track record of developing and improving the underwriting framework for optimal performance. Together with the rest of the team and supported by some of the best actuarial tools in the market, we are achieving that nirvana in disciplined underwriting in the balance between growth and profit.”
