RSA names technology chief

Seasoned exec will implement the company’s IT strategy to support transformation

Insurance giant RSA has appointed seasoned finance industry executive David Germain to the role of group chief technology officer.
 
Based in London, Germain will be responsible for implementing RSA’s information technology strategy to support change and transformation.
 
He will also develop the group architecture function to anticipate and react to major shifts and developments in technology, driving business efficiency and innovation through smart IT investments.
 
“I am pleased to be asked to lead the RSA global technology strategy, which is integral to the wide scale digital transformation programme. I look forward to working with colleagues, partners and customers,” Germain said.
 
The new technology chief will report to Darren Price, group chief information officer at RSA.
 
“I’m delighted to welcome David to RSA. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise that will make him a real asset to the team,” Price said.
 
Germain has been in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. He most recently served as head of technology, operations and product at RBS.
 
Prior to that, Germain held transformation, CIO and COO roles at GE Capital, Close Brothers, and Deutsche Bank.
