A “very excited” Joe Hanly (pictured) is joining insurance intermediary Specialist Risk Group (SRG) as group chief financial officer.

“I have followed the progress made by SRG over the past few years and have been impressed by its distinctive culture, combined with its market position as a home for specialists,” said Hanly, who is making the switch from corporate travel management company Reed & Mackay.

“I am looking forward to working with Warren [Downey] and the team to help play my part in the next chapter of SRG’s exciting growth journey.”

Based in London, the PwC and Integrity Software alumnus will join the board at SRG. Meanwhile it’s unclear where Hanly’s predecessor, Charlie Love, is headed.

“Joe is a fantastic addition to our team, and I am thrilled that he is joining us to help deliver the next stage of our growth journey,” commented SRG group chief executive Warren Downey. “He will play an integral part in the continued development of our business, and I look forward to the input and expertise that he will bring.

“Joe’s experience of working for a range of companies backed by private equity investment will be invaluable as we continue in our pursuit of attracting specialists and building a company we are proud to tell our friends and family about.”

SRG is backed by majority shareholder HGGC, a private equity firm based in California.
