Travel and cruise insurance specialist Insurance Choice has announced that it will donate £1 from every travel insurance policy it sells to local charity.

The insurer’s donations will go straight to the Myton Hospices, a charity that cares for around 1,000 local people who are living with or affected by a terminal illness and their families at three hospices in Warwick, Coventry and Rugby.

Explaining the motivation for the initiative, Insurance Choice operations director Neil Muldoon said they are “big believers in giving something back”.

“The initial response from our customers has been extremely positive and we hope to donate a substantial amount to the charity over the coming year,” he said.

The insurance company based in Leamington Spa said the fundraising scheme will only apply to travel cover initially but it may be rolled out across other products.

Hannah Morris, Myton Hospices corporate fundraiser, said the charity is “extremely grateful” for Insurance Choice’s support and is looking forward to a great partnership with the insurer.

“We are delighted to have been chosen as Insurance Choice’s nominated charity for 2016 and are excited to get to know the team,” Morris said.
