Mike Lawton may have already been a busy man in his role of VP of business insurance at Travelers Europe, but now he is set to be responsible for the company’s specialty business too.

The role, which sees him report to CEO Matthew Wilson, and also take on the Traveler’s Lloyd’s syndicate, will see Lawton work to identify synergies between the company’s retail and small business lines and its syndicate in the hope of better serving the market.

Meanwhile, the company has also promoted a new active underwriter – with Chris Allison, who has been with the firm since 2007, to move into the role from January 01. Reporting in to Lawton, Allison will lead the activities with the Lloyd’s syndicate including maintaining market strategies. He was previously in the role of deputy active underwriter and chief underwriting officer of the Traveler’s Syndicate at Lloyd’s.

Allison’s switch into the role comes as Nick Rnjak moves on to pursue other opportunities after 13 years with the organisation. He is set to remain in the position until the end of 2020.
