What advantages do brokers offer over direct insurers?

Insurance News

Insurance brokers have faced a myriad of challenges in recent years. Whether it has been the boom of price comparison websites, more insurers offering their products through online channels or the latest emergence of tech alternatives, it seems that brokers have faced one threat after another that have squeezed margins and ensured only the cream of the crop survives.

Yet through the storm brokers have kept their heads held high and managed to maintain significant market share.

So now we want to know, how do you do it?

As insurance brokers, we would like to know the most important advantage you offer over a direct insurer – and all you have to do is click a button to vote in our new poll, which can be found in the bottom left-hand corner of our home page, to tell us.

There are plenty of options to choose from. Perhaps it is the personalised advice you can offer and ability to ensure that customers get policies that are actually tailored to their needs? Perhaps you have more access to products instead of a “one size fits all” approach; or you are able to find products at a more suitable cost for the client you are dealing with? Or maybe it’s that you are able to better protect your clients’ data, or that you are able to more clearly explain that difficult policy jargon that customers simply might not understand by just clicking on a website?

Whatever the reason, just take a few seconds to click on our poll now (it’s in the bottom left-hand corner of our home page) to make your choice and, if you have time, leave a comment below for our forum to explain your choice. We will collect your answers and comments into an article to be published soon at Insurance Business.
