Woodgate & Clark has announced the appointment of Mike Higgins (pictured) as operations director, succeeding Graeme Fitzpatrick, who retired after 12 years with the company.

Higgins brings nearly 30 years of experience in insurance and claims management to the role. He joins from Crawford, where he was head of construction.

Beginning his career in insurance claims with a large composite insurer, Higgins transitioned to loss adjusting in 2002 with GAB Robins as a liability adjuster. He advanced to director of operations for property.

Higgins joined Crawford in 2015 as London market director in the construction team, later taking on leadership roles in real estate and field operations. He led a field team development programme at the business.

In his new role, Higgins will join Woodgate & Clark’s board of directors. He will oversee the company’s daily loss adjusting operations, ensuring alignment with its strategic goals and objectives in delivering claims solutions to the insurance market.

“We are delighted to attract someone of Mike’s calibre to our business as we enter a very exciting chapter in our growth following the integration of Quadrassist and Spotlite Claims, and as we plan to merge with Van Ameyde UK,” commented James Eveling, managing director of Woodgate & Clark. Eveling assumed the role in 2023. He previously served as corporate governance and compliance director at Woodgate & Clark.

“It is vital that we remain focused on the solutions that make a difference to the cost of claims for insurance providers and for the end customer journey – Mike has the right mix of experience and skills to ensure that focus remains steadfast, while also driving innovation and talent programmes,” he added.

Earlier this month, Woodgate & Clark announced that it is planning to merge with Van Ameyde UK under the Woodgate brand. The integration process, which began this month, is expected to conclude by early March.
