Insurtech MGA Qlaims has announced the appointment of Stuart Reid (pictured), a prominent figure in the broking industry, as non-executive director.

With over 35 years of experience in the insurance sector, Reid has held key leadership positions, including CEO at Stuart Alexander, CEO & executive chair at Bluefin, and CEO of UK Retail at A J Gallagher. He has also played significant roles at industry organisations, such as deputy chair of the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) and chair of BIBA’s Large Broker Committee.

According to his LinkedIn, Reid’s contributions also extend to the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), where he served as vice president and chair of the CII Broking Faculty. Currently, he holds positions as chair at Partners& and Pikl and serves as a non-executive director at Harbour Underwriting.

Liz Latter, CEO of Qlaims, welcomed Reid’s appointment, highlighting his strong broking expertise and the value he brings to the non-executive director team. She said, “I’m thrilled Stuart has joined us. He brings a strong broking acumen to our NED team, providing us with balance and increased expertise across the board. I’m looking forward to working with Stuart and hearing his views on how we can support brokers and their clients with their claims. His insights will be valuable to us as we grow and broaden our propositions.”

Recently, the MGA also announced some further enhancements to its commercial lines claims assistance services, with changes made for easier additions to commercial property insurances and a wider scope for client support.
