AXA Insurance UK Plc has replaced Swiss Re as Ensurance UK’s main capacity provider.

In a release, the London-based specialty lines managing general agent announced its capacity deal with AXA for the MGA’s core construction and engineering products. The partnership, which provides AA-rated capacity to Ensurance UK, took effect on February 01.

“This is a landmark deal for Ensurance,” stated founder and chief executive Tim James (pictured). “We have worked hard building our business over the past three years, growing our underwriting team, our range of products, and reputation within the market.

“With AXA, we have a capacity partner who shares our ambition to take our business forward to the next phase of our journey. Our brokers can be assured that this new arrangement maintains our position as a go-to MGA for UK construction and engineering risk solutions, backed by exceptional-rated capacity.”

A wholly owned subsidiary of Australian firm Ensurance Ltd, the UK business was launched in 2017 and also offers engineering inspection, cyber, terrorism and sabotage, and active assailant insurance products.
