RSA is bolstering its cyber underwriting team in the UK with two “great additions”.

First, Liberty Mutual alumnus Carol Nguyen, a senior technology underwriter at RSA parent Intact in Canada, has begun a secondment with RSA in London. The secondment, which took effect on February 15, will run for six months.

Then, on May 15, Henry Westwood will be joining RSA from CNA Hardy to serve as senior specialist underwriter. Westwood, whose credentials include time spent at Towergate Insurance and Hiscox, will be in charge of leading RSA’s standalone cyber underwriting practice in Britain.

“The demand for cyber insurance continues to grow in response to an ever-increasing frequency of ransomware and data breach incidents,” said group cyber underwriting director Nigel Pearson in an emailed release. “New legislation is also being enacted that addresses cybersecurity and data privacy in many jurisdictions that will only increase the potential liabilities for organisations.

“Having a comprehensive product that addresses these issues is very much part of our specialty lines strategy. I’m therefore delighted to welcome both Henry and Carol to RSA. They’re both great additions and, alongside the team we already have, will support our growth ambitions in this space.”

Aside from Pearson, other members of the UK specialty lines cyber underwriting team are cyber portfolio manager Nicky Parker and cyber underwriter Mathias Jeppesen.
