Revealed: Cheapest way to score insurance comparison site’s reward scheme

Back in April we reported on Compare the Market’s Meerkat Meals… now the new 2-for-1 reward scheme has been rolled out, and a publication has revealed how consumers could pick up the insurance comparison site’s hospitality deal for just a few pounds.

Launched this week, the Tastecard-powered incentive programme will see customers enjoy ‘two for the price of one’ starters, mains, and desserts for up to six diners Sundays to Thursdays in participating restaurants. According to Compare the Market’s website, the lowest-priced dish will be free of charge.       

To be eligible, Meerkat app users must purchase a qualifying product – among the likes of motor and home insurance – and present their unique scheme membership details via the app at the point of payment for the dining discount, which is available to members on an annual basis just like the existing Meerkat Movies programme.

“Meerkat Meals reinforces our leading commitment to rewarding our customers with exceptional entertaining and valuable benefits,” commented Compare the Market director of customer rewards & partnership Julie Daniels ahead of Monday’s launch. “We believe it will be a real game-changer for the hospitality industry...”

Now a report by This is Money said, of the qualifying products, among the cheapest is single-trip travel insurance. According to the publication, the most affordable policy it found costs only £3 – offering an inexpensive path to the discount deal.
