British Marine, a subsidiary of QBE Insurance Group, has appointed Guy Pierpoint as portfolio manager of British Marine P&I. He joins the team in September.
In his new role, Pierpoint will be responsible for managing the portfolio and targeting strategic growth opportunities as part of the company’s ongoing business development plan. He will report to QBE European Operations International Markets director of underwriting Tim Pembroke, and will work closely with British Marine portfolio manager, marine liability specialty, Grant Smith.
Pierpoint has more than 30 years of experience in the role. He joins British Marine from Atlantic Insurance & Reinsurance Brokers, where he served as senior executive director. Prior to that, he was CEO of Osprey Underwriting Agency and had held senior roles at Thomas Miller Specialty.
