Ardonagh Advisory has moved its acquisition spree into top gear with a move for self-drive hire insurance specialist broker, Sentinel Insurance Solutions Ltd.
The deal, announced this morning, will see Sentinel join Ethos Broking and add to its existing product offering.
Sentinel is based in Reading, having been established back in 2008 by Jon Duncan, the company’s managing director. According to the company’s back-story, Duncan identified a gap in the market for quality self-drive hire insurance products.
Duncan works alongside director James Cooper, who is an insurance specialist with 30 years of experience under his belt.
“Sentinel began as an ambitious business which has grown over the years into a market leader thanks to our unwavering commitment to providing an unrivalled level of service,” said Duncan.
As part of the transition, both Cooper and Duncan will work alongside the Ethos Broking team and the wider Ardonagh Advisory platform.
“Sentinel is a superb business, fuelled by a team of experts that adds a much sought-after specialist capability to Ethos and the wider Ardonagh Advisory business,” said Phil Bayles, chief commercial officer at Ardonagh Advisory.
“This is a business that has longstanding and preferential carrier agreements with leading insurer partners enabling them to maintain a competitive position in the market.
“Jon, James and the team have proven that theirs is a business that is centred around clients and have used their impressive entrepreneurial skills to build Sentinel into the exceptional business it is today.”
Duncan added that the Ethos Broking team is aligned with his own business values.
“This partnership represents a great opportunity for us to benefit from being part of a bigger broking group, while at the same time ensuring that we maintain all the qualities that ensure ours is a distinct voice in the market,” he said.
