QuestGates closes deal for Focus Claim & Risk Management

Mergers & Acquisitions

Specialist loss adjuster QuestGates has completed the acquisition of Focus Claim & Risk Management (Focus), its fourth deal for the year.

Earlier this year, QuestGates acquired two Ireland-based firms - Rossiter Claims Management Services and Keating Claims Adjusters, followed by its purchase of all-uk adjusters.

Focus specialises in managing contingency and entertainment claims such as cancellation and non- appearance, with particular expertise in prize indemnity, over-redemption, and risk management of lotteries and prize promotions. QuestGates noted that its latest acquisition complements the existing expertise of its subsidiary Hyperion Adjusters.

“Since acquiring Hyperion four years ago, it has gone from strength to strength as demand from clients for its expertise in the contingency, entertainment, motorsport and lotteries market has increased,” said Glen Donaldson, director of specialist services at QuestGates. “These are highly specialist claims requiring unique skill sets and experience to ensure they are handled correctly, both from a technical and operational perspective. Focus has a fantastic reputation in the market and we are delighted to welcome their team as part of the Hyperion/QuestGates family."

The Focus team, which includes Linda and Jonathan Wylde, will become part of QuestGates’ specialist services division and will work with Hyperion.

“Having worked hard over the past 20 years to build a reputation for service excellence in the contingency market, we felt it was the right time to become part of a larger enterprise,” Linda Wylde said. “We soon recognised that QuestGates was the natural choice. Glen and the team made it clear that they would both value the expertise that we could bring to their existing team of professionals within Hyperion, but also help us to widen our service offering to our own client base.”
