Allianz Insurance has announced the addition of a legal services offering – dubbed Allianz Legal Services – to its complete directors and officers (D&O) product.
In a statement, the insurer said it was prompted to add the service after legislation and regulation once again featured in the top five concerns for businesses in its 2021 risk barometer.

“Following a period of extraordinary change, and challenge, some may now find themselves lacking legal clarity and confidence,” the firm said in its statement. “In recognition of this issue, complete D&O policyholders will now have free access to Allianz Legal Services.”
The offering, which the insurer said will be made available for policies incepting or renewing on or after December 04, will provide policyholders access to a free 24/7 telephone legal advice service, where legal advisers can provide guidance on business-related legal matters.
Allianz Legal Services will also provide 140 free legal templates to help ensure complete D&O customers’ HR policies, contracts and agreements are legally compliant, as well a law guide written by lawyers to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) understand legal processes and requirements.
“It’s been an extremely challenging time for some of our SME customers who had to make a succession of changes to their businesses due to the rapidly changing external circumstances,” said Helen Bryant, director, digital trading at Allianz Insurance. “We’re always looking at new and different ways to support our customers, and by providing legal services as part of complete D&O, we’re offering very practical and tangible assistance. Insurance isn’t just for when something goes wrong, risk management and mitigation are crucial too.”
