Global insurance group Howden has announced the appointment of Robert Green (pictured) as executive director, property.

A Press release from Howden said the move is part of its continued investment in expertise for the property unit to better serve UK and European clients with large and complex property risks. In his new capacity, Green will service companies across Howden’s specialty and retail divisions. He will be based in London and report to Peter Naylor.

Green has over 22 years of industry experience, with 16 of those years dedicated to the UK multinational sector. His expertise lies in property program design and placement, and he has a proven track record of strategic market engagement across diverse client portfolios.

Prior to joining Howden, Green served as broking director within the UK retail broking division at Aon. His credentials also include time spent as vice president for placement at Marsh.

“Robert’s industry expertise and experience represents a significant benefit to our clients with complex property risks, and his appointment further underpins our close collaboration with Howden’s retail large & complex risks team for seamless client service delivery,” said Edward Longfield, head of property at Howden. “We welcome him to the team.”

As part of his role, Green will also work closely with Adam Reed, managing director, retail large & complex risks, and leverage his specialist knowledge to introduce innovative solutions that address a wide spectrum of intricate risks.

“Howden is committed to providing its clients with the best quality solutions, and Robert’s skill-set and detailed market knowledge serves to reinforce this,” said Reed. “A well-recognised market figure, his appointment is a great example of the way Howden works hand in glove across all areas to provide its clients with the best possible solutions.”

News of Green’s appointment comes after Howden announced the acquisition of Swiss aviation (re)insurance broker Hudson Sky International.
