Industry veteran Jayne Pinnell has made the switch from brokerage giant Marsh – where she served as social housing head within the public sector team – to become client director for the North East in Gallagher’s specialist UK public sector and education practice.

Bringing with her extensive broking and underwriting know-how to the newly created role, Pinnell will be in charge of enabling customers in their development of effective risk financing strategies, as well as support of the compliant procurement of appropriate insurance coverage. Her more than 25 years of experience includes handling large portfolios of public sector and education clients at Travelers

“Jayne is a fantastic addition to our specialist team as we look to further strengthen our capabilities in key geographies and provide excellent on-the-ground support for clients,” commented Tim Devine, managing director of Gallagher’s UK public sector and education unit. “Her technical expertise, in-depth sector knowledge, and track record of delivering effective valued solutions will enable us to build out our robust client-focused proposition and become the go-to broker of choice in the sector and each region.”

Pinnell will be providing local support for regional clients as the practice not only looks to build on its success in the rest of the UK but also accelerate its growth aspirations in the North East.

Gallagher’s UK public sector and education team works with local and national government, government departments and agencies, blue light services, higher and further education, healthcare providers, and registered social landlords. Areas of expertise include insurance programme design, programme tendering and market access, as well as audits and reviews.
