Stubben Edge Group has joined forces with Sage to launch a competition aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the UK.

Facilitated through Stubben Edge’s subsidiary, smallbusiness.co.uk, the competition is open to all UK-based SMEs that have been trading for less than five years, regardless of industry or sector.

Winners will be provided with a fully equipped and strategically located pop-up shop on London’s famous Oxford Street for a four-day period, along with comprehensive marketing and promotion support.

Each winner will also be interviewed and showcased on the smallbusiness.co.uk website, further enhancing their brand exposure. Additionally, they will receive a six-month free trial of Sage Accounting.

Stubben Edge Group CEO Chris Kenning expressed his pride in partnering with Sage to create this opportunity for UK SMEs, which he referred to as “the backbone of the UK economy.”

“This competition is a fantastic opportunity for business owners to boost their brand and showcase their offering on one of the world’s most famous shopping high streets,” Kenning said.

Liz Barclay, the UK’s Small Business Commissioner, also praised the initiative and highlighted the significance of small businesses to communities, society, and the overall economy. As one of the judges, Barclay expressed her eagerness to witness the creativity and innovation of the businesses that will participate in the competition.

“Competitions like this help increase the understanding of just how significant small businesses are in terms of ideas, innovation, creativity and jobs,” she said.

Those interested in the competition can enter for free by completing a brief proposal form, which should outline their business story, the products or services they offer, and what winning the competition would mean for the business. The deadline for entries is May 21.

Aside from Barclay, the panel of judges include Toks Aruture (founder and CEO of the Baby Cot Shop), Ryan Panchoo (owner of Borough 22) and Kirsty Waller (vice president of UKI performance marketing for Sage).
