Personal protection and insurance products and services provider CPP Group has partnered with Just Travel Cover to launch what is said to be the first parametric lost luggage offering in the UK.
Parametric insurtech Blink – which was snapped up by CPP in 2017 and integrated into the group this year – will deliver the technology that automates the claims process from when a checked luggage is registered as missing. The new Smart Luggage product in the UK complements Blink’s existing flight delay and cancellation parametric travel proposition.
“Parametric technology will play a massive part in the future of the travel insurance industry, and this partnership shows that we are at the forefront of innovation in the space,” said CPP Group chief executive Jason Walsh. “To partner with a business like Just Travel Cover is further evidence of our growing reputation and ability to attract high-profile partners in our home market.

Meanwhile Walsh’s camp is keen on further developing its parametric capabilities, not only in travel insurance but also more broadly.
