Technology provider Earnix has joined the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) as an associate member.
BIBA represents the interests of general insurance brokers in the UK and acts as a key voice for the intermediary sector. Earnix said the membership signals its intent to play a larger role in discussions around insurance innovation, regulatory compliance, and the application of advanced technology in insurance distribution.
According to Earnix, its solutions are being adopted by a growing number of regional brokers seeking to improve pricing accuracy, customer personalisation, and operational performance.
The firm noted that developments such as Consumer Duty requirements and increased customer expectations are prompting brokers to invest in technology that supports compliance and competitiveness.
The company said it will use its role within BIBA to contribute to industry discussions on the future of insurance distribution, focusing on the role of data and technology in shaping market practices.
Adrian Coupland (pictured above), head of insurance EMEA at Earnix, highlighted strong demand among regional firms for technology that offers accuracy, compliance and operational gains. Earnix intends to collaborate with BIBA members on digital transformation strategies that leverage real-time data and advanced analytics to support customer outcomes.
As of 2024, BIBA represents approximately 1,800 regulated firms across the UK, collectively employing over 100,000 individuals. These members arrange 77% of all general insurance and 94% of commercial insurance business, contributing around £105.5 billion in premiums annually.
Last year also saw BIBA experiencing its highest level of member engagement to date. The association welcomed over 10,500 brokers at a record 60 events, including compliance forums, young broker networking events, and various webinars.
Additionally, BIBA's regional tour facilitated direct interactions with over 900 members, alongside representatives from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Flood Re.
Recently, BIBA also announced Markel as an official partner - it is set to sponsor and exhibit at the BIBA Conference taking place in Manchester from May 14 to 15.
