By January next year, Lloyd’s will have a Manchester hub focussed on digitalisation.

“We are seeking new talent who will be excited to embrace the challenge and opportunities of building the Future at Lloyd’s,” said the insurance marketplace in a release.

“After an analysis of potential locations where there’s a critical mass of the talent we’re seeking, we will create a ‘hub’ in Manchester by January 2022. From this base, we will offer flexible working opportunities for team members to come together to work, connect, and innovate as they need to.”

According to Lloyd’s, a significant number of digital roles will be based in Manchester, complementing the skills and capabilities across the Lloyd’s global network and in the exchange’s London and Kent offices.

“We are excited to base our digital delivery capability in a new hub in Manchester and attract new talent to Lloyd’s,” commented Lloyd’s chief operating officer Jennifer Rigby. “I’m a proud Mancunian myself, and was delighted when our analysis showed that the city would be the best location to base our new hub.

“The roles we’re recruiting for are opportunities to help transform the Lloyd’s market and join an organisation where our teams have the tools, technologies, and mindset for truly flexible working. This is an important next step for Lloyd’s and our digital ambitions.”

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the insurance marketplace is now in the second phase of its consultation aimed at redesigning the underwriting room and supporting spaces in the Lloyd’s building on Lime Street.
