Dinghy, the start-up that Disruption50 recently named the most disruptive insurance company in the UK, has appointed Dorian Zanker as chief executive.

“Delighted to join the team,” Zanker is no stranger to Dinghy as he has worked for a number of years for the insurtech’s parent firm Kingsbridge Group. According to the London-based disruptor, the appointment is part of its strategy to accelerate growth in the UK and international freelancer business insurance market.

“In a world increasingly demanding tailored solutions that meet people’s actual insurance requirements, Dinghy is ideally positioned to serve the needs of the UK’s ever-growing community of freelancers and self-employed professionals,” commented Zanker, who has a background in successfully building online insurance distribution platforms.

The new CEO added: “The work co-founders Edward Woodcock, Robert Hartley, and Ben Wilks have done in building Dinghy from the ground up has been outstanding. The potential for growth at Dinghy is huge, and I’m looking forward to working with the whole team on the journey ahead.”

Meanwhile it’s also been announced that Julian New and Ross Pounds are joining Dinghy’s marketing team while Andrew Els is boosting business development.
