Health solutions business Simplyhealth, which serves 2.3 million customers, will be moving to a single policy platform with the help of insurance software company Genasys.

Lifting the lid on the partnership, Simplyhealth chief digital and technology officer Dave Exall said: “We are dedicated to improving access to healthcare for all in the UK, and we want to make it even easier for our customers to interact with us. Moving to a modern platform to act as the centre of our ecosystem, integrating easily with our other partners, was the logical choice.

“Delivering a platform that will enhance the user experience for corporate customers, employees, and consumers was at the heart of our selection process. The SKi platform offered both the depth of functionality for our business, while providing a configurable architecture with its hundreds of API (application programming interface) end points.”

Exall was referring to the flagship insurance management system provided by Genasys.

“Most importantly,” added the Simplyhealth executive, “we felt that the Genasys culture and innovative spirit embodied the values most important to us, enabling us to achieve our vision.”

Under the multi-year tie-up, more than a million health plans will be migrated from Simplyhealth’s current insurance system on to a single platform that features modularised end-to-end policy administration and claims solutions.

Commenting on the project, Genasys co-chief executive André Symes (pictured) stated: “We are hugely honoured to have been selected by Simplyhealth to help them on their programme of digital transformation.

“This is an incredibly important project for both our businesses, and our team is committed to achieving the end goal on time and on budget. That’s the promise that we’ve built our business on, and it’s a promise that we never break.”

Manned by nearly 1,000 people, Simplyhealth has been in business since 1872.
