Following university, Lindsey Nelson thought insurance would be a stopgap move before quickly realising it would be a fitting permanent career. Having worked for the likes of W. R. Berkley and Chubb Insurance in Canada over several years, she has since dedicated her career in the industry to writing technology and cyber risks, leveraging her international and teaching experience to educate the broker community about the risks industries face in these emerging sectors.
Since moving to the UK in 2016 and joining CFC as the international cyber team leader, Nelson has been instrumental in the growth of the company’s international cyber portfolio across Canada, the UK and Australia, and has positioned herself as a highly respected speaker and market commentator, involved in multiple industry events in the UK and internationally.
When asked about what contributes to her success, Nelson largely credits the teams she’s been surrounded with. “Being fortunate enough to work with a great group of professionals who are driven to do their best every day is highly encouraging, and having a company that supports growth and creativity in everything we do is a large part of that.”
When not travelling with friends or on business, Nelson is actively involved with several charitable organisations for breast cancer research and young mentorship programmes in Canada, and hopes to continue those efforts on this side of the pond.
