Mark Schoeff Jr. was a senior reporter for Insurance Business America based in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining IBA, he wrote for nearly 14 years for InvestmentNews, another KM International publication. He won an award from Editor & Publisher in 2022 for best news/political blog for his IN column, D.C. Insider.
Before joining InvestmentNews, Schoeff was the Washington correspondent for Workforce Management, writing about employment and labor law. During his more than three decades in Washington, Schoeff also served as director of external relations for a think tank, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and as Press secretary for then-Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana.
Schoeff is active in the National Press Club, where he was membership secretary and previously served as board chair.
