Accredited Surety & Casualty Company, a Florida-based insurance company licensed to write property and casualty business in all 50 states, has had its AM Best A- (excellent) financial strength rating affirmed.

AM Best said that the “ratings reflect Accredited’s balance-sheet strength, which AM Best categorizes as very strong, as well as its adequate operating performance, limited business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management.”

AM Best said it had a stable outlook on Accredited’s rating. The rating agency said it expects that the insurer’s “operating results will continue to be profitable.”

Earlier this year, AM Best raised its A- group rating on Accredited from VI to VII to reflect the insurance company’s increased capital base and surplus. It also awarded Accredited’s European sister company, R&Q Insurance (Malta) Limited, a first-time A- rating.
