Insurer Alliant has expanded its employee benefits presence in the North Idaho locale through the acquisition of Burkhardt Consulting.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Burkhardt is an employee benefit management consulting firm with expertise in cost management, plan administration, and strategic consultation, which it will lend to the Alliant practice.

“The Northwest, with its expanding economy, diverse business landscape and vast pool of talent continues to serve as a cornerstone of our acquisition strategy,” Alliant chairman and chief executive Tom Corbett said in a company statement.

“Joining Alliant places us on a team with likeminded professionals and provides a range of tools and resources that will enable us to take (our) commitment even further,” Burkhardt proprietor Scott Burkhardt added.

Burkhardt will continue to serve its clients out of its Coeur d’Alene office.
