Ames & Gough, an insurance broker and risk management consultant specializing in serving design professionals, law firms, associations, non-profits and other professional service organizations, has announced the appointments of Matt Gough (pictured) and Brett Gough as executive vice presidents. They will lead the firm’s operations in Washington, D.C., and Boston, respectively.

“These promotions are much-deserved recognition of the hard work and commitment to excellence that Matt and Brett have shown throughout their careers in serving clients, growing Ames & Gough, and, in recent years, helping lead the firm as members of the operating committee,” said Dan Knise, president and CEO of Ames & Gough. “As they take on expanded leadership responsibilities, we look forward to their contributions to the firm’s continued growth and ongoing commitment to superior client service.”

Matt Gough will lead the Washington, D.C., operations. He previously served as a senior vice president and partner of the firm. He succeeds Knise, who will continue as the firm’s president and CEO. Matt Gough joined the firm in 2001. In addition to working directly with many large and mid-sized design-firm clients, he was responsible for new business development and managing the contractors’ professional liability program.

Brett Gough will lead Boston operations. He was also previously a senior vice president and partner. He succeeds Mike Herlihy, who will remain a member of the firm’s leadership team. Brett Gough joined Ames & Gough in 1995. He has been responsible for business development and for addressing the risk management and insurance needs of many of the agency’s large design-firm clients.
