Aventum has announced the appointment of Robert Moorehead-Lane as chief risk officer, which it says underscores the company's dedication to effective risk management and delivering value to its stakeholders as it prompts growth in the industry.

With a 25-year tenure in the financial services sector, Moorehead-Lane brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the chief risk officer at Aspen Insurance Group. He has also held positions at Grant Thornton, Assurant, and KPMG, where he honed his expertise in risk strategy, framework development, strategic transformation, regulatory policy making, solvency, and risk-based capital solutions.

“The chance to lead the risk function at such an exciting time for the Group was an opportunity I simply couldn’t resist,” Moorehead-Lane said. “I look forward to ensuring the delivery of its risk strategy and supporting its pledge to create even more value for the business, its clients, and the industry as a whole.”

In his capacity as group chief risk officer at Aventum, Moorehead-Lane will play a critical role in ensuring the organization’s growth is bolstered with enhanced resilience through a robust risk framework, fortified governance, and vigilant oversight.

“Robert’s extensive expertise will make a vital contribution to Aventum as we continue our ambitious growth journey. It’s a critical role designed to deliver even more value through the safe and compliant operation of our business. His leadership skills and deep understanding of the complexities of the insurance regulatory environment will be invaluable,” Aventum CEO David Bearman said.
