Ames & Gough, an insurance broker and risk management consultant specializing in serving design professionals, law firms, associations/nonprofits, and other professional service organizations, has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Hilliard (pictured above) as assistant vice president.

“Ever since she joined our firm more than eight years ago, Liz has consistently been a difference-maker for our clients even as their risks have become more complex and the insurance market has tightened,” said Matt Gough, president of Ames & Gough. “Her outstanding performance over the years is a testament to her exceptional skills, dedication and focus on providing superior service to our clients. I’m delighted to recognize her many contributions to our clients and our firm and look forward to her continued growth and success.”

Currently serving as an account executive, Hilliard directly assists several of the firm's clients and provides technical and administrative services in support of client executives working on numerous other accounts. Based in the Washington, D.C. office, Hilliard joined Ames & Gough in 2015.

Before joining Ames & Gough, Hilliard held a position as an insurance account manager at BB&T Insurance Services in Fairfax, VA. Prior to that, she spent 14 years at Lambert, Riddle, Schimmel, and Company in Fairfax. She initially served as a systems coordinator and receptionist before earning promotions to licensing coordinator in 2003 and commercial lines account executive two years later.

Hilliard holds the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation.

Hilliard’s appointment is the latest at Ames & Gough. In February, the brokerage elevated three company veterans to equity partner.
