EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants has announced the launch of a private equity employee benefits group designed to serve private equity and alternative asset management firms and their portfolio companies.

The team, led by Larry Kirshner and Ryan Dwyer, will be part of EPIC’s financial services division under Philip V. Moyles Jr., chief growth officer and financial services division president.

Kirshner spent 20 years building a benefits practice in the Northeast. Since 2019, he has worked with the EPIC financial services team as Northeast employee benefits practice leader for private equity and alternative asset management firms.

Dwyer has spent many years managing an Atlanta-based team focused on large employers primarily owned by private equity firms, EPIC said.

The group will combine Kirshner’s and Dwyer’s teams.

“With deep relationships and decades of experience in their respective markets, these teams fit together in a way that positions EPIC’s financial services division for accelerated growth and collective success,” Moyles said. “Combining these two complementary teams allows us to successfully compete on all types of opportunities related to private equity-owned businesses.

In January, EPIC bolstered its aviation practice with the addition of Peter Schmitz as senior executive. In August of last year, the company announced three key hires.
