Hub snaps up Maryland agencies

Global insurance broker Hub International Limited has announced has acquired the insurance brokerage assets of Maryland-based Rockville Insurance Agency and Jeffrey Preston Zepp. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The principal of Rockville Insurance, David Kushner, and Zepp were each previously part of Nationwide’s exclusive distribution model. They are now joining Hub, having recently transitioned to independent brokers.

Rockville Insurance and Zepp provide personal and commercial insurance, including home, auto, life and business. The agencies are based in Gaithersburg and Ellicott City, Md., respectively. Kushner and Zepp, along with their employees, will join Hub Mid-Atlantic and will report to Norman Breitenbach, president of the region.

Since last year, Hub has acquired 17 agencies that were previously exclusive Nationwide agents that became independent.
