New executive hires and promotions aim to enhance strategy, underwriting, and market growth

Several insurance firms have announced leadership appointments and promotions, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance operational capabilities and drive strategic growth. 

AM Specialty Insurance CUO at Pinpoint Insurance Solutions

AM Specialty Insurance Group has named Mary McKay (pictured above left) as chief underwriting officer for its managing general agency, Pinpoint Insurance Solutions.

McKay, who brings more than 20 years of experience in transportation underwriting, will lead the underwriting strategy and development of transportation programs alongside Brad Sickinger. 

McKay has held leadership positions across the retail, wholesale, and program administration sectors, including roles at Maximum Independent Brokerage, Vanliner Insurance Company, and Swett & Crawford.

She previously served as executive vice president and chief underwriting officer at Foundry Insurance Group, where she was involved in the development of three niche transportation programs. 

"I am excited to join Pinpoint and contribute to the growth and success of its transportation programs," McKay said. "Working alongside Brad Sickinger, I look forward to enhancing our offerings and delivering innovative solutions that complement Pinpoint's existing APD offering." 

Shevawn Barder, CEO of AM Specialty, said McKay’s underwriting expertise and leadership will be valuable as the company strengthens its position in the specialty insurance market. 

DOXA executive leadership team

DOXA has announced the addition of five executives to its leadership team as part of its strategy to expand capabilities across its business units, partners, and programs.

The new hires include Matt Bishop as head of operating entities and business verticals, Cindy Bush as senior vice president of people and culture, Doron Hai as chief operating officer, Ammon Smartt as general counsel and secretary, and Amy Watts as senior vice president of marketing. 

DOXA said that the expansion reflects a strategic shift for 2025, with a focus on organic growth and operational support through the integration of industry expertise and technology.

"Our new leadership members’ expertise in business strategy combined with their extensive insurance industry experience supports DOXA’s commitment to provide next-level support to our business units, partners, and programs." 

Millers Mutual Insurance vice president of sales and agency relations

Millers Mutual Insurance has promoted Chris Campbell to vice president of sales and agency relations.

Campbell succeeds Caroline Raneri, who will transition into the role of vice president of special projects before her planned retirement later this year. 

"Chris’s depth of experience, forward-thinking leadership, and commitment to the insurance industry will continue to position Millers Mutual for long-term success," said Jeffrey Pratt, president and CEO. "His promotion to vice president of sales and agency relations is well-earned, and we are confident he will continue to drive impactful growth and innovation in this expanded role." 

Campbell, a Certified Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) with multiple industry designations, previously served as director of sales at CoVerica, where he led sales operations across multiple business lines, resulting in a 26% sales increase in 2023.

He also served as president of Insureberry, a division of Ag Workers Insurance, where he implemented growth strategies and expanded market reach. 

RT Specialty environmental liability consultant

RT Specialty’s Hamilton, N.J. office, part of the RT Environmental and Construction Professional (RT ECP) Practice, has hired Steven A. Mack (pictured above right) as a consultant with a focus on environmental liability in the Northwest region of the United States. 

Mack previously worked as an environmental consultant and project scientist before transitioning into underwriting. Over the past three years, he was recognized as the top-producing environmental underwriter in the US at Philadelphia Insurance.

His expertise includes pollution legal liability, contractors pollution liability, and contractors professional liability insurance. 

"Steve’s expertise is an invaluable asset that will help our brokers better protect their clients while also growing their books," said Jeff Slivka, president of RT ECP. "I encourage brokers in the Northwest region to leverage Steve’s knowledge to elevate client services." 

Mack will work with RT ECP’s retail brokers to develop customized solutions for environmental and construction-related exposures.
