Lockton, the world’s largest privately held insurance brokerage, has announced the appointment of Nick Serrault as chief operating officer of key offices within its People Solutions business.

In his new role, Serrault will head up operations and business development for a key region of the People Solutions business, including Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Edina, Minn. He will also be responsible for attracting and developing new talent for the business.

Lockton’s People Solutions business helps businesses incorporate rewards and benefits packages and measure the effectiveness of their programs, the company said.

Serrault joined Lockton in 2016 and has held several operational roles in the company. Prior to taking his new role, Serrault served as chief of staff to Lockton CEO Peter Clune. In that role, he also served as a member of the company’s global operations team. Prior to joining Lockton, Serrault had a career in finance that included stints at JP Morgan and Wells Fargo.

“Nick worked side by side with me as chief of staff over the past several years,” Clune said. “He made me better and he made Lockton better. Nick brings deep business acumen and Lockton knowledge to his role. Our clients and people will greatly benefit from his leadership.”

“I am excited about this opportunity to join an innovative and growing business that is focused on making our clients’ organizations more successful, and just as importantly, their people’s lives better,” Serrault said. “Growing from a position of strength is always an exciting time for any organization.”

Serrault’s promotion is Lockton’s latest appointment. Earlier this month, the company tapped Brad Zechman and David Salvucci as co-leaders of its life sciences practice. In February, the company bolstered its cyber practice with the appointment of Matthew Silley.
