Marsh has announced the appointment of Sarah Stephens (pictured above) as US central zone leader, effective May 1, 2023.

Stephens brings almost two decades of insurance and risk management experience to her new role. She joined Marsh in 2019 as cyber, media & technology leader within the UK Financial and Professional Services (FINPRO) practice. A year later, in 2020, she was named head of cyber, UK and International.

Following her appointment, Stephens will oversee the 18 Marsh offices scattered across the Central region of the US, taking charge of driving client initiatives, developing new business, and fostering talent development.

She will relocate from London to Chicago and will report to Pat Donnelly, president of Marsh US and Canada.

“Sarah is a highly experienced leader who excels in developing teams, services, and innovative solutions that benefit our clients and deliver growth,” Donnelly said. “Under her leadership, our Central Zone will be well-placed to support clients in this rapidly changing and often volatile risk landscape.”

She also spent more than 12 years with Aon, starting as a client specialist supporting large and complex accounts in the US. She later moved into different roles of increasing responsibility, ultimately being named Aon’s head of cyber & commercial errors & emissions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2014.

“I’m excited to relocate back to Chicago where I started my career and work with colleagues across the Central region to deliver the insights and solutions clients need to manage their risks effectively and grow,” Stephens said.
