Retail insurance broker McGriff has announced the promotion of Mike Breedlove (pictured above) to national sales and growth leader.

In his new role, Breedlove will set the strategy and sales activities for McGriff’s commercial lines, including property and casualty, group benefits, surety, and the firm’s Executive Risk Advisors division.

Breedlove has more than 35 years of industry experience. Prior to his promotion, he served as McGriff’s national director of property and casualty. During his tenure in that role, Breedlove established the McGriff Young Performers Program, a coaching and development program for new insurance producers. Since its launch in 2019, the program has grown to include nearly 150 commercial and employee benefits producers, and has posted annual double-digit growth.

“Mike is a proven leader with a demonstrated passion for sales and a natural ability to inspire success and drive transformation with sales professionals at all levels,” said Doug Hodo, president of specialty and middle market at McGriff. “We are confident that he will apply his expertise across all of our platforms, supporting McGriff’s sales-driven culture.”

In September, McGriff announced the acquisition of Alternative Risk Resources, a commercial brokerage firm based in Wisconsin. The company also recently announced plans to restructure its personal lines operation.
