MGT Insurance launches MGT Specialty, taps Chad Nitschke as GM

MGT Insurance, an artificial intelligence-driven neo-insurer, has launched MGT Specialty, a new excess and surplus lines (E&S) company aimed at serving the 35 million small businesses across the United States.

“The launch of MGT Specialty is a pivotal moment in our journey to insure small businesses,” Graham Topol, co-CEO and co-founder of MGT Insurance, said in a press release. “We have been working on this for some time and are pleased to finally bring it to light."

Concurrently, MGT Insurance has appointed Chad Nitschke, a seasoned industry professional, as general manager to lead the initiative.

Nitschke joins MGT Specialty with extensive experience in both traditional insurance and insurtech sectors. His previous roles include serving as senior vice president of digital strategy and execution at Hiscox and founding positions at Vouch Specialty and Bunker.

"Chad’s unparalleled expertise and vision make him the ideal leader to drive this effort. Together, we’re creating new opportunities to serve entrepreneurs and business owners across America,” Topol said.

"The E&S market represents a tremendous opportunity to deliver flexible, data-driven solutions that capture significant market opportunities,” Nitschke said. “I look forward to working with our broker partners to advance MGT’s mission of serving the small businesses that power our economy.”

The E&S market saw over $95 billion in premiums in 2024, with an impressive year-over-year growth rate of 11%. This expansion positions MGT to address harder-to-place risks and underserved market segments through customized insurance solutions.
